Specimen Requirements
Container/Tube: 24-hour urine container supplied. No preservative.
Specimen: Entire 24-hour urine collection - Random specimen is acceptable, but reference values do not apply.
Collection Instructions: Refrigerate specimen during collection.
Note: 1. Starting and ending times of collection are required on request form for processing.
2. Follow instructions in “Urine Collections” in “Special Instructions.”
3. Label container with patient’s full name and 1 additional unique patient identifier such as date of birth, medical record number, emergency ID number, date and time of collection, collector’s initials, and type of specimen.
