Physician Office Specimen Requirements
Container/Tube: Screw-capped, leakproof container
Specimen: Random Stool - Ideally stool should be collected within 48-72 hours after onset of symptoms.
Collection Instructions: Keep bagged and sealed container with stool refrigerated or with refrigerant packs while stored and transported to lab.
Note: Label container with patient's full name and 1 additional unique patient identifier such as date of birth, medical record number, emergency ID number, date and time of collection, collector's initials, and type of specimen.
