Reference Values

Normal range = <244 ng/mL D-DU

In the setting of a low to moderate pretest probability, a result of <230 ng/mL D-DU has >99% sensitivity for excluding VTE.

Physician Office Specimen Requirements

Container/Tube:  2.7-mL light blue-top (sodium citrate) tube
Specimen:  Full tube - must be filled to exactly 2.7 mL
Collection Instructions:

Note:  Label tube with patient’s full name and 1 additional unique patient identifier such as date of birth, medical record number, emergency ID number, or financial number. Date and time of draw, collector’s initials, and type of specimen are also required.
